[ARCHIVED] Safe Route to School - 4th Ave Pedestrian Bridge and Sidewalks

Safe Route to School

4th Ave Ped Bridge, Trail and Sidewalks
From Bohn Park along 4th Ave over N St Vrain Creek up to High St and Lyons Elementary School

This project includes a multi modal trail for bikes and pedestrians from Bohn Park to the N St Vrain.
A pedestrian bridge will be placed over the N St Vrain and there will be bike lanes and sidewalks from Evans St (north of the bridge) along 4th Ave up to HIgh St and the intersection of 4th Ave and High St at the Lyons Elementary School.

The Safe Route to School and 4th Ave Pedestrian Bridge and Trail project is beginning to mobilize in late January 2022.

The contractor will begin mobilization this week. The schedule calls for an estimated 6 to 7-month timeline to install the pedestrian trail, bridge and ramp approach (ADA compatible) river work and sidewalks.  We anticipate the project will be complete in late summer, 2022.

All of the work is within Town Right of Way.
The Safe Route to school is predominantly funded with CDOT/SRTS federal funding and Community Development Block Grant.

The design engineers presented at the April 5, 2021 BOT workshop. View the presentation

The presentation for the two public meetings (May 13 and May 18) are also online.

Updates regarding the project will also  be sent via Town eblast.
