EcoPass is Going Mobile -NEW! MyRide App
The Lyons EcoPass provides residents with free use of any RTD bus and light rail service. This includes buses to the airport, and buses and light rail in and around Boulder, Longmont and Denver.
RTD is transitioning to the MyRide App for all passes, including EcoPasses

To transition your EcoPass with the New! MyRide App, follow these steps:
1.Download the RTD MyRide App on your smartphone through the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store
2. Create a new account by clicking the "account" tab in the app
Be sure to use the same email address that you provide to Town Staff
Every individual will need their own email address to make an account
3.Set up a barcode in the MyRide App
4.Click MyRide on the home page
5.Click "Get Started" in the "Your Active Tokens" section
6.Select "With a MyRide Barcode"
7.Name and create your MyRide Barcode
8.When prompted to add funds, click "Add Funds Later"
9. Email Town Staff (firstname.lastname@example.org) that you have downloaded the MyRide App and BarCode. Your enrollment will need to be verified by the town to determine that you are eligible and meet the town's requirements before activation.

For service from Lyons to/from Boulder - we have the Lyons Flyer public transportation which provides service Monday- Friday with two routes southbound in the morning and two routes northbound in the evening. Learn more about the Lyons Flyer and schedule.
Boulder County, in partnership with the Town of Lyons, City of Boulder, Regional Transportation District (RTD) and Via Mobility Services have worked to restore commuter transit bus service along US 36 between Lyons and Boulder. The service, rebranded as the “Lyons Flyer” will replace the Y route, formerly operated by RTD.
Typically, the EcoPass has a retail value of over $2,000!
Town of Lyons Resident: Adult (ages 20 and over) – No charge
Lyons Primary Planning Area (but not in Town Limits): Adult (20-64) - $40
Lyons Primary Planning Area (but not in Town Limits): Senior (65+) - $15
All youth ride free *NOTE* From September 1st 2023 through August 31st 2024, youth 19 and under ride at no cost! To ride free, you must show one of the following to the bus operator or fare inspector:
Current school ID
Valid government-issued ID
RTD-issued youth special discount card
Apply for a New EcoPass
If you do not already have an EcoPass you need to apply for one. You can also apply for multiple EcoPasses per household. The following items are required:
- Photo ID(s) for adults (18+) [e.g. Drivers License];
- Proof of Lyons residence [e.g. Utility Bill w/ street address on it]
You will need to come Town Hall with your photo ID and proof of Lyons residence.

EcoPass Annual Renewal
To renew an existing EcoPass, simply complete the EcoPass Renewal Application
Please allow up to seven business days for review. Once approved, your existing EcoPass will be reactivated for the following year.
Replace an EcoPass
If you have lost your EcoPass and need to replace it simply email email@example.com (include the following information in the email: Name, Address, and Phone Number), for the Town to issue an authorization form for a replacement. Alternatively, forms are available at Town Hall.
If you have paid your fee and your EcoPass is not working, there is a chance that this is because a pass hasn't been used for a while, or it may be corrupted. If this is the case, call RTD EcoPass support at 303.299.2273.
