In an effort to keep the Lyons community safe, this year’s Halloween Spooktacular parade has been cancelled, but don’t get too spooked! There is still ghostly fun to be had!

Outdoor Halloween Decoration Contest

Think you have the best outdoor Halloween decorations in town? There’s only one way to find out! During the month of October, residences, businesses, and community groups are invited to showcase their best outdoor Halloween decoration, and submit them into the town-wide contest. Submissions will be posted on the Lyons, Colorado Facebook page, and the photo with the most likes (reactions) win a Lyons-sourced prize! Visit townoflyons.com/decoration to enter!

This was previously the Scarecrow Contest, but due to the recent fires and other unforeseen impacts on Lyons, we've expanded this contest to include all outdoor decoration efforts. However, scarecrows are still very much welcome!

Voting will begin on Monday, October 26 at noon, and end on Friday, November 6 at noon. The deadline to submit entries is Monday, November 2. The earlier you submit your entry, the longer it will be on Facebook!

Costume Contest

We KNOW Lyons knows how to costume. The question is, who’s taking the gold this year? Submit your best individual or group Halloween costume photo, to be voted by the people on the Lyons, Colorado Facebook page – the costumes with the most votes (reactions) will win a Lyons-sourced prize! Visit townoflyons.com/costume to enter!

Halloween Treasure H(a)unts

Throughout town, there are treasures in disguise; can you solve the riddles to earn the prize?

Throughout Lyons, two spooky Halloween treasure hunts are underway - Creepy Creatures for younger monsters and Lyons Halloween Hunt for older gremlins. Each clue will provide a hint to the location of the next clue. Solve all the clues to find the treasure and claim your prize. Visit the Halloween Treasure H(a)unts page for clues if you get stuck. Good luck!

Giant Pumpkin

Giant pumpkins have been seen around town,
But there's one in particular that is quite renowned.
On October 27, a new game will start,
I would keep an eye on the pumpkins, if you are smart.

COVID Safety
Maintaining the health and safety of the Lyons community is the Town's top priority. As you make plans for this year's Halloween, please review the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) and the Centers for Disease Control's (CDC) guidance for trick-or-treating, masks, and more.
