Water Valve Replacement

Wednesday March 24 - new date!

The Town has rescheduled and will replace one of its 5 large pressure reducing valves on Wednesday March 24th. The valve is located on Fifth Ave. at Bloomfield Alley. Fifth Ave will be closed during the day on Tuesday March 23rd for prep work and Wednesday March 24th for the actual valve change. There will be no parking on 5th Ave between Bloomfield Alley and High St. on these 2 days as we will need to have large equipment in the area.

Water should only be off on Wednesday, March 24th at 8:30 AM until the new valve is in place, hopefully by 2 PM. This water outage will effect residents on Steamboat Valley Rd, Vasquez, Horizon, Longs Peak and Mountain View. Other residents North of High St., from Fifth Ave to First Ave may experience lower pressure while this valve is being replaced.

Skateboard Classes and More!

Saturday, March 20th

Come shred with Square State Skate's experienced staff at Bohn Park's brand new skatepark. In this lesson-based program, we set building blocks for safety and learning on boards. Goodwill Grants

The Town of Lyons has opened the 2021 Goodwill Grant Application. The Goodwill Fund grant recipients may apply for funding to add value to a group or groups of people in the Lyons area.
The purpose of the Goodwill Fund is to assist nonprofit organizations that help low-income individuals and families in the Lyons and greater Lyons (80540) area meet their basic needs.

New electric meter installation

Starts Wed Mar 24^th

Postcards were sent out to all Lyons electric utility customers regarding this upcoming project.

If you need to schedule your replacement for a particular day or time, there is a 1-800 number to contact the contractor if you need to schedule an appointment.

Please be sure your electric meter is accessible for the upcoming work. It is the homeowners responsibility to be sure their electric meter is accessible at all times.

In addition, the Town would like to remind customers that electric service lines connecting to your home are your responsibility to keep cleared of tree branches. If service lines break from tree branches, customers are responsible for the cost of repairs. If you cannot find a tree trimmer to maintain your trees or the branches are already too close to the power line and require someone certified to trim around power lines, you can contact the Town and they will contract with N-Line to trim your trees at your expense.

Note that trimming trees before an outage may still have a substantial cost, but an emergency repair during a storm will likely have double the cost along with the additional stress of the time without power and possible other damage.
