Garden in a Box
Brighten your yard with a Xeric Garden

Garden in a Box

Xeric Garden Program

Town of Lyons water utility customers can take part in the Garden in a Box program – a water-wise, pre-planned garden of native plants. The gardens are a selection of six professionally designed perennial, xeric gardens that include 14-30 starter plants, a plant and care guide and plant-by-number maps for each garden type. Prices range from  $111 to $161, depending on the number of plants and square feet.
This year, 15 discounts of $25 are available for Lyons water utility customers. Beginning March 1, interested residents can add their name to the pre-sale list to be notified when the gardens go on sale. Go to resourcecentral.org/gardens/shop and choose the highlighted text in the first paragraph.

After the discounts are gone, both Town of Lyons residents and anyone living in unincorporated Boulder County can still order the gardens at the normal, undiscounted price.

COVID Testing Continues

COVID Testing Continues

Fridays| 1:30 - 3 pm

Boulder County Public Health, in partnership with Boulder Community Health and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment will continue to provide free COVID testing in Lyons on Fridays, from 1:30 pm - 3 pm

No appointment is needed, and individuals do not need to have COVID-19 symptoms to be tested.

  • In order for Boulder County Public Health to have the most accurate location data for cases in Lyons please use both your physical address and PO Box (if you have one) on the form.  This is the same process that is used for every municipality and other local public health agencies, in order to have accurate counts for our Town.

  • It is also important for the Case Investigation and Contact Tracing Team to have the address that folks receive mail should Boulder County Public Health need to send  Quarantine and Isolation Letters by mail during this especially high caseload time.

Location: Parking lot of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 200 2nd Ave, Lyons
Hours: 1:30 – 3 p.m. every Friday weather permitting and excluding holidays.

Requirement: Mask must be worn

Keep Calm and Skate On

Ice Rink Closed for the Season

Due to warming temperatures and inconsistent ice, the ice rink has closed for the rest of the season. About this time of year, the sun gets high enough above the cliffs that it melts the ice in the afternoons and creates a bumpy, difficult surface to skate on when it refreezes.

Hope you were able to get out and enjoy the ice a bit this winter. Warm temps are on the horizon for Lyons and spring is just a few weeks away.
